Additional Privacy Statement for Mail Orders

CBT Tape has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy even when you volunteer some personal information in order to receive a product such as a tape, CD-ROM(s) or other delivery by postal mail from us.

In requesting a tape or CD-ROM(s) you normally volunteer your identity sometimes including your employer, often your phone number, and your mailing address. We require an email address that accepts return mail and a valid mailing address but everything else is optional. Information on the products ordered, date, your identity, email address and an indicator that payment was or was not received are stored in a database to allow us to remind people who forget to pay and to track our expenses. No attempt is made to aggregate the list of mailing addresses although they remain for some period of time in the Outgoing mail logs.

We will not share any of your personal information with anyone and what information we do have is not available for sale to anyone. I will purge your email address and all the personally identifying information from the mailing log if you request it after you have paid in full. To request this just indicate "please purge the record of my transaction" when you pay.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. These security measures consist of restricted access to log files and system libraries.

The CBT Tape mailing program operations run in Maryland, USA from the home office of Sam Knutson where some personal information is at least temporarily stored are also protected by reasonable security measures. These include the use of an operating system configured to require authentication to access data, a hardware firewall located between the Internet and any internal computer systems, and current Anti-Virus software.
